is a platform launched in 2009 and gathering all stakeholders of the feed and food chain, from the producers of agriculture inputs (feed, fertilizers, medicines, pesticides) until consumers of food of vegetable and animal origin and environmental NGOs. The Food Chain SCP Roundtable is co-chaired by the EU Commission. The purpose of this platform is to agree on a common methodology for a life cycle assessment of the environmental impact of the production and consumption of food products, to agree on a code of conduct for communication of information on the environment performance of food products to the consumers and to promote initiatives aiming at improving the environmental performance of goods.
