| Code of Practice for the labelling of feed additives and premixtures |

FEFAC and FEFANA have decided to develop together a Code of Practice for the labelling of premixtures and feed additives with a view to help companies implementing the EU requirements laid down in Article 16 of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 on feed additives. The Code provides the operators with practical solutions and options agreed between suppliers and users of feed additives and premixtures, in order to implement in a workable manner the legal prescriptions decided by the EU legislator 4 years ago. This Code provides among others that the names and quantities of additives with no quantitative limitation when used in feed may be provided to the customers on a product specification sheet and not on the label itself. The objectives of this Code were endorsed by the Premix & Mineral Feed and the Animal Nutrition Committees at their last meeting. Feed additives and premixtures producers are encouraged to implement the practical rules proposed in this Code of Practice. FEFAC Member Associations are invited to present this code to their national control authorities.
